SEO, built into the site

Found by the people already looking

Most of what decides whether a site is found is decided while it is being built: what the pages are, what they are called, and how quickly they load.

  • Structure decided before writing
  • Titles and descriptions on every page
  • Speed treated as part of it
  • Reported in plain language

What is included

What comes with SEO

The parts that move a site, and nothing that only fills a report.

What people search

The words your customers actually type, not the ones the industry uses.

Pages and structure

Which pages exist and how they link, which is what a search engine reads first.

Start a project

Titles and descriptions

Written per page, to be read by a person deciding whether to click.

Speed and schema

A slow page is a page that ranks lower, and schema tells a search engine what the page is.

How it goes

From first look to steady traffic

Search work is slow, so we say what changed and when.

  1. 1
What is there now Every page checked: what it is for, what it is called, and whether anything is competing with it.
  2. 2
What people search The terms with real intent behind them, and which of your pages should answer each one.
  3. 3
The changes Structure, titles, descriptions, links and speed, in the order that moves things soonest.
  4. 4
What happened Search Console, read and explained. What moved, what did not, and what is next.

Overview

Why SEO belongs in the build

SEO added to a finished site is a set of patches. Most of what matters was decided when the pages were chosen, named and linked, and changing that afterwards means rebuilding.

So we do it while the site is being made: the pages come from what people search for, and the words on them are written for those people.

Nothing here is a trick. Search engines are trying to find the page that answers the question, and the work is making sure that page is yours and that it loads.
